Thank you to the members who reported that their retired pay looked low. You were right, and this release corrects it. RETIRED PAY PAST 30 YEARS The app capped the High-3 retirement multiplier at 75%. That cap applies only to members who retired before 2007. For later retirements the multiplier is 2.5% per year of creditable service with no cap: 33 years is 82.5%, and 36 years and 8 months is 91.7%. If you are under High-3 with more than 30 years of service, your retired pay figures are now higher. Blended Retirement System figures (2.0% per year) are unchanged. 2027 BRS LUMP-SUM DISCOUNT RATE DoD published the 2027 rate of 6.60% in July 2026. It is now included. Previously the app reported that no rate had been published for 2027 and used the 2026 rate, which overstated the lump sum. DATA SOURCES Entries on the data sources screen now link to the document they came from: the DoD pay table, VA compensation rates, IRS tax brackets, the SSA life table, and the signed lump-sum rate memo.

About

I retired last year. I built this app based on that experience. I wanted to provide something to service members that provides details in terms of what their future income will look like, why it looks that way, along with a checklist to keep track of things. This is mainly for service members approaching retirement. Features: THE MILITARY INCOME STATEMENT Your retirement income itemized like a pay stub: gross retired pay, minus the SBP premium, minus federal and state tax, plus VA compensation. Every line shows its math and where the number came from. Before your retirement date it's a projection; after it, it's your current statement. RETIREMENT PLANNER Rank, date of rank, target rank, and retirement date drive your monthly retired pay. A promotion-impact chip shows what making the next grade is actually worth before you decide to chase it. BRS members get the lump-sum election modeled to DoD's own published methodology. SURVIVOR BENEFIT PLAN (SBP) Spouse and per-child coverage, with the premium priced the way DFAS prices it — including child-only coverage off the actuarial factor. Model the election before DD Form 2656 makes it permanent. VA DISABILITY Add your ratings and see the combined-rating math worked step by step. VA does not add ratings — each one applies to what's left. Concurrent receipt (CRDP/CRSC) eligibility is flagged. RETIREMENT CHECKLIST A T-minus timeline from two years out to after you're out: TAP, service records, SkillBridge, the BDD claim window, DD Form 2656, scheduling the final move with the TMO, TRICARE enrollment, the DD-214 review, and verifying your first retired paycheck against your own statement. Every item cites the statute, regulation, or agency page it comes from. PRICING One-time purchase. No subscription, no ads, no account, and nothing in the app gated behind a further purchase. PRIVACY Everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud sync, no analytics. Your financial profile never leaves your iPhone. The only thing ever transmitted is optional Send Feedback — your message plus app and device version — and only when you choose to send it. DATA Bundled and dated, transcribed from primary sources: the 2026 DoD basic pay table, 2026 VA compensation rates, federal tax brackets, the 50-state treatment of military retired pay, and DoD's published BRS lump-sum discount rate. Works offline. Every dataset is listed in the app with its source and its vintage. MilitaryRetire provides general estimates for planning purposes. It is not financial, legal, or tax advice.
