About
DollyCam turns your iPhone into a one-person dolly zoom rig. The app tracks a face in real time and adjusts zoom as you walk toward or away from your subject, recreating the Vertigo effect made famous by Hitchcock -- no rail, no crew, no post-production. The app handles the rest: - Walk Away: zoom increases as you move back, keeping the subject the same size while the background stretches - Walk Toward: zoom decreases as you approach, compressing the background behind the subject - Adjustable zoom response and intensity sliders let you dial in the exact look - Noise rejection and frame smoothing eliminate jitter from handheld movement - Monotonic ratchet prevents zoom reversal during recording for a clean, one-direction push DUAL CAMERA (PiP) Record from front and back cameras simultaneously: - Floating picture-in-picture window you can drag anywhere on screen - Drag to the top or bottom edge for a 50/50 split-screen layout - Combined mode composites both feeds into a single video file - Separate mode saves two synchronized files -- one from each camera MULTI-ASPECT RECORDING Capture portrait and landscape from a single take: - Records 9:16 portrait and 16:9 landscape simultaneously - Uses the ultra-wide camera for the landscape crop - Both files receive the same LUT and stabilization settings - Perfect for repurposing content across Reels, TikTok, and YouTube CINEMATIC EXPOSURE LOCK Lock the shutter to a 180-degree shutter angle at 24 or 30 fps for true film-look motion blur: - Auto ISO adapts to changing light while shutter speed stays fixed - Live ISO readout on screen - Low-light and overexposure warnings so you never clip COLOR GRADING WITH LUTs Apply .cube LUTs in real time -- on the preview and baked into the recording: - 10 built-in looks: Cinema Teal, Nostalgic, Monochrome, Vivid, Warm Fade, and more - Import your own .cube files from any source - Intensity slider blends from 0% to 100% - GPU-accelerated Metal rendering pipeline with trilinear interpolation PRO VIDEO CONTROLS - 4K and 1080p resolution - 24, 25, 30, and 60 fps - HEVC (H.265), H.264, and Apple ProRes 422 (HQ, standard, LT, Proxy) - Standard and Cinematic video stabilization - Smooth Lens Switching for fluid 0.5x, 1x, and telephoto zoom targets - Pinch-to-zoom keeps the highlighted lens target synced - Physical Lenses mode remains available - Auto, manual, and manual + focus peaking modes - Six white balance presets plus lock-current - External microphone detection with live audio level meter - Tap to set focus and exposure point, then slide up or down to adjust EV compensation — works in auto and cinematic modes - Front-facing camera selectable as the main lens, alongside ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto back lenses BEAUTY CAM Real-time skin smoothing and whitening for vlog-ready footage: - GPU-accelerated Metal compute pipeline - Adjustable smoothing intensity and whitening level - Face-region gated on back camera, full-frame on front - Quick access from the swipe-up Filter Tray alongside LUT controls COMPOSITION TOOLS - Rule of Thirds grid - Crosshair + Thirds overlay - 2.39:1 Cinemascope framing guide SAVE ANYWHERE - Automatic DollyCam album in your Photo Library - Save directly to external drives, SD cards, or any folder on your device - Browse, play, and manage all your recordings in the built-in video library - Swipe-to-select for fast batch operations DESIGNED FOR REAL SHOOTS - Volume button triggers recording - Accelerometer-based orientation detection for accurate rotation - Thermal state monitoring warns you before the device throttles - No internet connection required -- everything runs on-device Download DollyCam for free for a limited time.
