AuroraSpotter: Northern Lights

About

Will the northern lights be visible from where you are tonight? AuroraSpotter answers it with one number: your personal aurora visibility percentage, calculated for your exact location from official NOAA space weather data. No more reading raw KP charts. No more driving out for nothing. YOUR CHANCE TONIGHT A single visibility percentage for your GPS position, updated continuously. The 3-day forecast is filtered to nighttime hours only, so every number you see is a moment you could actually be outside looking up. ALERTS THAT RESPECT YOUR SLEEP Set your own KP threshold from 2 to 8. Four severity levels (storm, high, moderate, watch) mean you get woken for a real display, not for background noise. Quiet hours keep the rest of the night yours, and official NOAA geomagnetic warnings are forwarded automatically. SEE THE OVAL, NOT JUST THE NUMBER Explore the auroral oval on an interactive map driven by the NOAA Ovation model, or spin the 3D globe with a live aurora overlay and watch the band move across the planet. THE FULL SPACE WEATHER PICTURE Real-time solar wind readings including Bz, Bt, speed, density and temperature, plus the A-index and station count. Browse LASCO C2 and C3 coronagraph imagery to spot coronal mass ejections on their way to Earth. Everything a serious aurora chaser checks, in one place. CLEAR SKY OR NOT A perfect KP index means nothing under cloud. AuroraSpotter folds in cloud cover, temperature, precipitation and visibility, plus moon phase and your exact darkness window, so you know whether it is worth stepping outside. PLAN TRIPS BEFORE YOU BOOK Add any location manually and check its outlook. Tromso, Reykjavik, Fairbanks, or the field behind your house.
