The Liberty Trail N.C.

About

North Carolina played a major role in the fight for independence, from the early Patriot resistance at the Battle of Alamance to the pivotal clash at the Battle of Guilford Court House, which so weakened British General Cornwallis's forces that it set the stage for the ultimate American victory at Yorktown. As a battleground between Loyalist and Patriot neighbors and a theater for both British and Continental armies, North Carolina was a state forged in the fires of revolution. The Liberty Trail NC offers engaging, in-depth tours of sites related to the American Revolution. Visit the battlefields where lives were risked and lost, hear the stories of the men and women who fought and sacrificed, and learn how the efforts of both soldiers and citizens contributed to the future of the United States. Whether you are a longtime history fan or first-time explorer, there are many ways to access The Liberty Trail—find your path.
