The Fan is a drone-based ear training app for exploring and internalizing intervals. It presents the seven diatonic tones in two arrays: The Fan organized from consonance to dissonance, and The Curtain arranged in scale order while also distinguishing chord-tones and non-chord tones. Each is an interactive diagram wherein you can tap individual tones and hear them against a sustained vocal drone. To see how your ear training is coming along, the app includes a fun and challenging test mode. Test mode: Start drone and press begin. Listen to the interval presented. Select your answer. When the timer runs out, you’ll receive feedback as to the accuracy of your selections. There are 10 questions per round.
