About

Paper Void is a writing instrument for words that were never meant to be kept. You write on a ruled page. When you're finished, you pinch it with two fingers until it collapses — and the words are gone. Not archived. Not in a trash folder. Gone. There is no save button, because there is nowhere to save to. THE PAGE • Ruled paper, a handwriting typeface, and the date at the top • Writes Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and CJK correctly — not an English text box • Apple Pencil Scribble on iPad • Paper under a pen while you write • Dark mode, four paper tones, four line spacings • An opening line to start from — a permission, not a prompt. Switchable. THE GESTURE • The collapse tracks your fingers in real time — it is not an animation you trigger • It crackles in time with your fingers; stop, and the sound stops • It resists through four stages, and you can call it off until the last moment • A flash, a crunch, and a ghost of your words that dissolves and takes them with it • Afterwards, one line: "47 words. Gone." WHAT IS NOT HERE • No account, no cloud, no sync — there is no server to send anything to • No history, no undo, no export, no backup • No AI. Nothing reads what you write, because nothing keeps it • Copy and Cut are switched off at the system level. Text can come in. It cannot leave. WHAT IT IS FOR • Morning pages, without the drawer of full notebooks • The first draft that isn't for anyone — including you • The message you need to write and never send Write it. Crumple it. Gone.

The page has a voice. You can hear the pen while you write — the writing sound was silent until now. And the crumple crackles in time with your fingers: pinch slowly and it gives way slowly, stop and it stops. It's no longer a sound the app plays at you. Every page opens with one line. It's a permission, not a prompt — swipe it away, or switch it off in Settings. A count of what you've written sits at the end of the last ruled line. When the page is gone, it tells you what went: "47 words. Gone." Four paper tones — bone, cream, mist, sand — each with a dark variant. Four line spacings. Settings, the welcome, and the guide are drawn by hand now. The handwriting belongs to you alone. Anything the app says on the page is set in something else.
