About
Your child watches a card, hears the word — and then the card goes quiet. That silence is the whole point. A speech therapist calls it an expectant pause: the moment a child is invited to answer, with a sound, a gesture or a word. SayMa is built around it. Everything else — the calm watercolours, the unhurried pace, the absence of buttons — exists so that pause stays comfortable. HOW A CARD WORKS • A still watercolour appears and the word is spoken — nothing moves, so nothing competes for attention • A short animation shows the thing in motion, with its own sound • The card falls silent and waits. The word breathes gently: your turn • The word is spoken once more, and the next card arrives on its own The pause is as long as your child needs: shorter for children who aren't speaking yet, longer for those already putting words together. You choose the stage during setup, and can change it any time. FOR THE CHILD • 18 topics, 400+ words: animals, transport, food, city, body, colours, shapes • Naturalistic watercolour images — realistic pictures transfer to real objects better than cartoons • No buttons and no menus to get lost in: cards advance by themselves • Screen lock is on from the first card. Your child can watch and listen but can't swipe away or reach settings. Hold the lock to unlock FOR YOU • First words diary — mark what your child said out loud. It's the only number that means anything, and only you can hear it • Progress by week, and a benchmark for your child's age, so the number stops being a source of worry • "What counts as a word" — six things worth knowing before you start counting, including why calling dad "mama" is a normal stage, not a mistake • Screen time limit, playback speed, English and Russian OFFLINE Downloaded topics work without a connection — on a plane, in a car, at the doctor's. — SayMa is a subscription with a free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account, and the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
