About
Hear the room again. Unring is a sound routine for the ringing that won't quit after concerts, range days, headphones, or years of work noise. Find the exact frequency where your hearing dipped, then aim a session at it. Built by someone with the same ringing. HOW UNRING WORKS 1. Find your frequency A guided sweep plays one tone at a time across your hearing range, separately for each ear. You listen for the band that sounds quieter than the tones just above and below it: the dip where noise damage usually lives, and usually the same band the tinnitus is sitting on. Save it, and the whole app aims at that one number. 2. Notch + Tinnitus Breaker Notch cuts a narrow gap in the noise exactly where your tinnitus sits, so the rest of the room is full of sound and that band stays empty. Tinnitus Breaker plays soft, overlapping tones that glide through the band just above and below your frequency, each on a fresh path, never landing on your frequency itself, never repeating a pattern. They are independent, so you can run one, the other, or both, and each is one tap once your frequency is saved. 3. Stack a soundscape and sleep Layer brown, white, and pink noise. Drop in rain, fan, ocean, or forest. Set a fade-out timer so it's quiet by the time you are. Save the routine that worked tonight and reopen it tomorrow. WHEN TO USE IT Before bed is the most common session: a full sound bed with the notch in it covers the ringing and keeps running while you fall asleep. Many people also run it in the morning to take the edge off the tinnitus they wake up with, or quietly in the background while they work or study. Thirty to sixty minutes a day is a sensible start; louder is never better. On nights when you just want a sound machine for sleep or focus, the noise, ambiences, and timer work on their own. WHAT'S INSIDE • Per-ear hearing sweep, with your dip saved • Notch anchored to your saved frequency, with width and steepness you can tune • Tinnitus Breaker glides around the same band: spread, pace, stereo width, flutter • Presets & EQ for multi-band and per-ear fine-tuning • Mixer: brown, white, pink noise + rain, fan, ocean, forest • Binaural beats for focus and wind-down • Sleep timer with smooth fade-out • Saved routines: reopen the session that worked • Background audio so you can lock the screen • Fully offline once installed WHO IT'S FOR People with noise-exposure tinnitus from clubs, concerts, gunfire, headphones, or loud work. People who hear it loudest in a quiet room, and want to read, work, or fall asleep without the tone winning. ABOUT THE RESEARCH Notched audio has been described in research for years. Tinnitus Breaker is our own design: soft glides that never settle on one pitch, built on the idea that ever-changing sound at the edges of your band gives it nothing fixed to settle into. It is a hypothesis, not a proven method. Results vary and habituation takes time; the point is a session you can live with, on a phone you already carry. Unring is a self-directed sound tool for personal listening routines, not a medical device, diagnosis, or treatment. If your tinnitus is new, sudden, one-sided, or paired with hearing loss, dizziness, or pain, please see a clinician first. SUBSCRIPTION Unring requires a subscription.
