Substage

SubStage is a tool designed to provide an expressive space for the inner worlds of children, adolescents, and adults  through the construction of scenes. Inspired by the “Scenotest” projective test—originally developed by Gerhild von Staabs—this digital format  enables the playful representation and processing of unconscious conflicts, emotions, and relationship patterns  under professional therapeutic guidance. The subject (child, adolescent, or adult) is prompted by a practitioner to intuitively construct a scene using  three-dimensional figures, much like on a stage. There is no right or wrong; every individual is free to develop their own unique scene. The practitioner facilitates the process based on their specific professional and therapeutic expertise. SubStage facilitates interpersonal contact and supports both verbal and, in particular, non-verbal  communication for children, adolescents, and adults alike. SubStage was conceptualized and developed by child and adolescent psychiatrist Dr. med. Kerstin De Nicolò, this app is already being successfully utilized in her practice with young patients.
