About

ScaleIQ estimates how much something weighs from a photo: a package before you ship it, a suitcase before you fly, a portion of food, or a piece of furniture before you lift it. You get the weight in pounds, ounces, kilograms or grams, with a likely range and a confidence level. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick a preset: Package, Luggage, Food or Large Item. 2. Take a photo, or choose one from your library. Add a question if you like. 3. Get the estimate, the likely range, and one line that answers your situation. 4. Switch units with one tap, or ask a follow-up question about the item. PRESETS THAT ANSWER THE REAL QUESTION Package: the estimate includes the box and the packing, and ScaleIQ gives the shipping weight rounded up to the next whole pound and the next half kilogram. Luggage: the estimate is compared with common airline limits, 7 to 10 kg for a carry-on and 23 kg or 50 lb for a checked bag. Food: only the food is counted, never the plate or the bowl, and ScaleIQ tells you what it counted. Large Item: furniture, appliances and equipment, with a plain call on whether it is a one-person lift, a two-person lift or a job for a dolly. SEE HOW IT WAS ESTIMATED Every result explains its reasoning: the size, material and density ScaleIQ read from the photo. When confidence is low, it tells you how to retake the photo for a tighter estimate, with your hand or a coin in the frame for scale.
