OLEM — Board Game Robot OLEM is a robotic companion designed to turn a physical board game into a more dynamic, interactive experience by combining robotics, sensors, NFC, an app and physical game components. Autonomous table movement: OLEM can move around the game table using 360° movement and four flank sensors, allowing it to navigate around the play area. Board recognition: Its vision system can detect game pieces, the board/table edges, players' hands and hero miniatures. NFC integration: NFC allows OLEM to identify or interact with compatible game components. Interactive feedback: It has a screen, speaker and LEDs for visual, audio and status feedback. Physical game master / opponent role: OLEM can potentially act as an automated game component—moving around the board, reacting to player actions, delivering information and creating physical events that would normally require a human game master.
