What's New - Post-translational modification (PTM) sites The phosphorylation view now covers PTMs across the board: phosphorylation, acetylation, methylation, ubiquitination, SUMOylation, glycosylation and more, all from UniProt. Each type has its own colour, can be switched on or off, and residues carrying several modifications are shown together. A colour legend is added automatically to exported 4K images. - Common protein names next to gene symbols Gene symbols now appear with their everyday name, such as MAPK1 (ERK2) and MAP2K1 (MEK1), in AlphaFold search results, the protein summary and the AlphaFold model card. - Synonyms and protein family New "Also known as" and "Family" lines list UniProt synonyms and the protein family hierarchy. - Smarter search Searching by a common name such as ERK2 or MEK1 now brings the matching human protein to the top.
