Velvet Verify is a privacy-first, sexual wellness app that makes it easier to exchange STI test results with people you choose. Connect with partners in the app and mutually agree to exchange results. Once agreed, both people can view each other’s results in-app for a limited time, and opt-in to receive anonymous exposure alerts if a user reports a positive test result in the future. A “Verified” status indicates the uploaded document passed these checks but does not confirm clinical accuracy and does not replace a lab, clinic, or medical professional. Exposure Alerts If a user reports a positive test result, Velvet Verify will send anonymous exposure alerts to eligible past in-app connections. It automatically checks which connections have opted in to receive alerts and uses timing information (such as connection date and testing dates) to determine which connections should receive one. Alerts are sent discreetly and anonymously. Privacy Test documents are used only to extract results for in-app sharing. Documents are deleted after the user reviews and accepts/declines the extracted results, or automatically deleted within 24 hours, whichever is sooner, and are not sold or used for model training.
