SimpleFlight Pigeon is the race-day companion for pigeon fanciers: the distance to your loft, the speed your birds made, and what the weather is doing between the liberation site and home. Formerly flightControlRP, rebuilt from the ground up for today's iPhone and iPad. Your loft and stations from the earlier version come across when you update. RACE DAY • Pick the station and the liberation time, or tap Toss from here at a training release. • Distance to the loft to the yard, computed on WGS-84. Enter your club's official distance and the app uses it for every speed. • An expected-arrival window from the wind along the line of flight, recomputed every minute from where the birds are, with the wind and base speed it used shown alongside. • Slide to the speed you think the birds are making: arrival time, miles flown, miles to go, mph, and a bird that moves along the line on the map. • Sunrise at the liberation site and a reminder when the birds are due. WEATHER • The line of flight drawn over radar, satellite and an animated surface-wind layer. • Reporting stations along the line with wind, visibility and cloud, decoded in plain words. • Weather ahead of the birds: every station between them and the loft, with rain, low cloud, poor visibility, strong headwind or gusts flagged and how far ahead it is. ARRIVALS AND RESULTS • Record each band as it lands: YPM (or metres per minute), position and minutes behind the first bird. • Clock with BENZING Live? A Shortcuts automation hands each arrival notification to the app, which records the band and clock time on the current race. No account, no password, nothing leaves the phone. Requires iOS 27 or later. • Races and training tosses by season, CSV import, a race card image to share, and a link to your MyPigeons race page. • A speed faster than a pigeon flies is flagged, so a clock set an hour off is caught, not recorded. YOUR DATA • No account and no server. Loft, stations, races, arrivals and band numbers stay on your device. • Yards, miles and YPM, or metres, kilometres and metres per minute. • No ads, no tracking. ABOUT THE NUMBERS Distances, speeds and expected arrivals are computed from the coordinates you enter and public weather data. They are estimates, not results.
