Un Une

About

Learning the gender of French nouns is essential to learning the French language. It's one of the most challenging aspects for non native speakers. Native French speakers learn nouns along with their articles/genders from an early age and so "just know" them. For those learning French not in this way it can be a challenge. There are a number of systems/rules of thumb which usually involve memorizing the endings of French nouns that are usually masculine or are usually feminin. However there are obviously nouns who's endings don't "play by the rules" and so mistakes will be made. The best thing is to learn the gender of each noun individually. Un Une will help you achieve this goal. It uses a special algorithm which was designed for learning large amounts of information in an easy way. It presents you with French nouns at your pace. All you need to do is see the noun and choose a gender. You'll move through discovering the new nouns all the way to mastery where, just like the French native speaker, you'll just know. Give Un Une a try with the free noun word pack which contains the most popular nouns. Other features include a stats page to track your progress. You can also set alerts to remind you to practice as routine practice is what will get you to knowing all the French noun genders.
